Installation Guide: (Click Here)

Dodge Hangers are an incredibly useful corrosion resistant, stainless steel construction hardware for installing the starter row of your wall sheathing, siding and roof decking with plywood, OSB, T1-11, cement boards, or lap siding by one man, which can save a lot of money on labor. Dodge Hangers promote safety and ergonomics, making them easy and comfortable to use. They are able to support a significant amount of weight without issue, taking the burden off the man. Additionally, the Dodge Hangers will lock the material into place for a no movement nail-off. You can work on all sides independently and still have consistency, uniformity and accuracy of installation.

The Dodge Hanger Top Leveler will hang the material with a 1" drop and allow you to work on out of level foundations by popping a chaulk line and installing to the line.

Use the Dodge Hanger Top Leveler on the edge of the roof rafter tail-end to install the roof decking flush with the edge of the rafter end or with a hang-over for the fascia.

The Dodge Hanger Top Levelers (DHTL15) are compatible with the Dodge Hanger Corner 15 series (DHC15) outside corners for installing your wall sheathing and siding.

Select the size you need based on the thickness of the material being installed.  Select DHTL1538 to install 5/16", 11/32", or 3/8" thick material.  Select DHTL1512 to install 7/16", 15/32", or 1/2" material.  Select the DHTL1558 to install 9/16", 19/32", 5/8" material.

SHEATHING OUT OF LEVEL FOUNDATIONS

1.
For out of level foundations, establish a level point at either end of the building.
2.
Snap a chalk line across the length of the side. Repeat for each side.
3.
Use the DHTL to create a level surface for hanging the sheathing.
4.
Leaving the top tab unbent, line the chalk line up with the alignment site and the shoulders of the DHTL.

5.
It is recommended you attach the DHTL’s on a 1’ by 3’ foot pattern around the mud sill plate. You should place a DHTL no more than 6” in from each end or joint.

6. For vertically installed sheathing (4’ x 8’, 9’, 10’, 12’) it is recommended you use (2) DHTL’s per sheet.

7. For horizontally installed wall sheathing (8’ x 4’) it is recommended you use (3) DHTL’s per sheet (i.e., (1) hanger each at 6”, 4’, 7’6”). Place (1) DHTL no more than 6” inside one end of the sheathing material and another (1) DHTL no more than 6” in from the opposite end; set (1) DHTL in the center of the sheet.

8. Attach to the structure using Approved Fasteners*.

9. Place sheathing material on the DHTL and nail-off
